February 3, I have the AMP and am currently using it to power my 2 front speakers in my 7. Would the AMP be able to power the subwoofer in addition to my 2 front speakers? Also, which subwoofer do you recommend of the two noted? The location would be lower front left corner of room approx. Thank you for your help! Good question, but I do not believe the AMP will help you out. Plus placement of your sub woofer can be critical.
How do subwoofers connect to an amp?
As you saw in the previous discussion, a 4 ohm mono load is the same as a 2 ohm stereo load as far as the amplifier is concerned. Looking at the diagram below, configuration ‘x’ shows a 2 ohm stereo load. Configuration ‘y’ shows a 4 ohm mono load. If both amplifiers are driven to the same output level, the current flowing through the outputs would be equal.
Nov 06, · If you have the dvc 2 ohm subwoofers you can wire the subs for a 2 ohm mono will need to set the gain on your amplifier with a d.m.m. to keep from blowing your subs. Your subs are rated to handle a total of watts rms and your amp can put out up to watts rms. if you set your amp to make full power the subs will : Resolved.
How to install an Amplifier: Disconnect the battery terminals: Run the power cable from the battery to the location of the amp or distribution block. To read more about running wires, click here If you run it through any sort of sheet metal, be sure to protect the power cable with a rubber grommet, or some other protective device. Be sure you have plenty of slack at both ends of the cable.
This will make your life easier, trust me! Be sure you run the power cable away from any RCA cables.
How do you wire speakers and tweeters off of a 2 channel amp?
How Do I Hook Up my subwoofer? Hook up Powered Subwoofers: Receiver Pre-Outs Before trying to hook up your subwoofer, you need to identify the connections it has. First, take a look at the back of your subwoofer.
If you have two subwoofers, you can wire the subwoofers together in series or parallel and then wire them to the amplifier. Two Channel Amplifiers A two channel amplifier can be wired in a few different ways because it has two channels which you can bridge together to create one channel.
I was wondering what the benefits are for getting a 4 channel amp vs a 2 channel amp for powering just your 4 speakers. I understand on a 4 channel you can use fader and balance where as on a 2 channel you would probably just have fronts and back fader. Why would you want or even need the balance function? I cannot think when you would have the left side turned up higher than the right side?
Wouldn’t just font and back fader be sufficient? What advantage is there to be able to balance as well. I think the only time ive ever used the balance is to check if a speaker is blown without having to put my ear against it. Probably an obvious question, but Im pretty new to car audio. Reason being is that basically in stereo recordings you will have sounds that play between the left and right channel and also independently from one another.
Not having a left and right channel would really screw up your imaging plays a big part in sound quality and your music would not sound remotely how it’s supposed to. Another reason you wouldn’t want to do this is because, even if you hooked it up for left and right instead of front and back channels, your front stage and rear fill would put out the same volume. Ideally, you want your front speakers to be the loudest and your rear speakers to provide a hardly noticeable ambient fill.
If you already have a 2 channel amp that you want to use, just power your rear speakers off of your radio and pump the extra juice from your amplifier to your front speakers.
Subwoofer Connection Guide For A Multi Subwoofer System
Jack I pulled these out after 10yrs in the basement, I built them in college and I’m 33 now so I am a little rusty on the details. Originally I used a 1 piece box that was the height and with of the back of my couch. The volume was achieved with proper depth. I tuned that to 37Hz by tweaking CV’s “high power enclosure” recommendation”. It was great for movies but too deep for music and weighed lbs.
How to Hook Up Subwoofers to an Amp If you have a passive sub or your amplifier lacks a “Sub Out” jack, you can connect the amplifier and subwoofer like you’d connect two speakers. Use the Main (Left and Right) speaker output terminals on the amplifier and connect to the subwoofer’s speaker inputs. How to Wire 2 Subwoofers on a Mono.
Some equipment, especially amps, have multiple OHMS ratings. But what does it all mean, and why is it all so important? OHMS are a way of measuring Resistance. Resistance is the measurement of an electrical device or circuits ability to flow electricity. Low resistance means the device is able to “pass” more electricity, high resistance means it “passes” less.
Resistance is a Static measurement it does not change. Speakers do not have a resistance, as whilst the cone moves the effect of the magnets in the motor causes the resistance to change. Impedence is also known as Speaker Load. OK so now you understand what OHMS are and how they related to the speakers impedence, how does that help?
Car Audio System Wiring Basics
How to hook up a subwoofer to a stereo system Hint: You don’t necessarily need a receiver with subwoofer output jacks. Subs can provide a foundation to the sound that few speakers can muster on their own.
Apr 14, · Subwoofers are used in most home theater systems, but subs can also radically improve the sound of stereo systems — and not just the ones with .
One thing I learned pretty early in life is that speakers are not meant to be wired together in a haphazard manner. In fact, whenever you plan to connect more than two speakers to a two-channel amplifier — or more than four speakers to a four-channel amp — there are a few things to consider, not the least of which is the amps ability to handle low-impedance loads.
Ignoring the basics is like playing Russian roulette with your amplifier: If youre lucky, itll drive the speakers without incident; if youre not, the amp will fry. The great thing about a multiple-speaker hookup is that once you master only two basic wiring procedures — “series” and “parallel” — the world is yours to conquer. When you know how many speakers youre going to use and the impedance driving capability of your amplifier, youll be able to select a wiring scheme that will deliver the best sonic and electrical results.
In some cases, it may not be one procedure or the other but a combination of the two that works best. Speakers in Series The essence of series wiring is really quite simple: When speakers are connected in this fashion, load impedance increases — the more speakers, the higher the impedance. The most common reason for wanting to raise impedance is to lower acoustical output, as in the case of rear-fill or center-channel speakers.
Speaker output declines because the amplifiers power output decreases as the load impedance increases. While you can connect any number of speakers in series, try to keep the total equivalent-load impedance for each channel below 16 ohms, since most amps are not designed to handle higher loads.

This will guide you through the process of installing subwoofers to an aftermarket CD player or stock in your car. Steps 1 The most cost effective first step is to buy an amplifier wiring kit off of an internet auction site, etc. This will come with a huge power wire, a short ground wire, a remote wire, and many times an inline fuse and various connectors to help keep the install organized and looking clean. Some stereo shops have huge spools of wire available by the foot.
To wire two subwoofers to a mono amplifier, you need only know how to cut wire, use very simple tools and follow basic instructions. Cut two lengths of speaker wire. The first should be long enough to reach from the amplifier to the first subwoofer, and the second .
What amp do you use for a car subwoofer? You must first check with the guide to your subwoofer. Either you can probably find it online , but you need to know the RMS wattage for the subwoofer. Than buy an amp that can put out the same number of watts and the RMS is for the subwoofer. Whats the proper way to wire up two duel voice coil subwoofers in a series in an American car just from the amp to the subwoofers? Well, if they share a box, then you will need to make sure that your amp RCA’s are connected to the back of your CD players auxillary ports.
Then you will need to run the power wire from your amp to the battery, and you will need to find a nice ground on your from somewhere. Then connect your remote wire. After all that, you will need to connect your box, or boxes, to the amp.
how do I connect my own subwoofer?
It has been moving towards streaming sources, IP control, and wireless single-zone amps. For the most part, I think this has been great for consumers, but has left many manufacturers playing catch up to the likes of, well, Sonos. Currently, the product lineup consists of seven wireless products: Users can explore, browse, and play music from an existing music library, online streaming music services, and Internet radio stations.
In addition to speaker outputs, each zone features a stereo analog input, stereo analog pre-out, USB port, and 12v trigger output. The analog inputs and USB ports, a total of four each, are zone agnostic.

I own 1 roland Kc and a KC and this thing blows them out of the water. This amp is basically an affordable version of the Roland but they stepped it up with cleaner sound, beefier low end and power.
Speaker Connections for proper impedance match A note about amplifiers: You should always use the recommended load for your amplifier. However, if you must use a load other than the recommended load, here is a short guide.
Danny, You wire two DVC 4-ohm subs to an amp that can handle a 1-ohm load like this, If you want to utilize the amp’s dual-terminal set-up, you can disconnect the positive and negative leads of Sub 2 (in the diagram) from Sub 1 and connect them to the positive and negative terminals of the amp.
It leaves me wanting for nothing. It is staying for the long term. In conclusion, the UNIverse. Its utter realism is spooky. If the recording was made in a large hall, or outdoors, or in a small club, you will know it. There is no barrier between you and the music. You are not on the outside listening in on the performance. Close your eyes and the instruments and voices are in the room with you. Many times I found myself unconsciously reacting to the music on the albums exactly like I would at a concert or jazz club.
Wanting to applaud after an exceptional solo.
You don’t want to know So if your like me and think there should be some reasoning behind the color codes and wire size, there isn’t. On the non JBL radio, there is not a external amp. The front speakers are on one connector and are pink, purple, light green, and blue.
Nov 21, · Best Answer: First off, if its a mono amp, then it is not bridgeable. And based off of the first two ratings you list, I’m going to guess you have the Alpine MRP-M, but I don’t know where you came up with the bridged power ([email protected]) : Resolved.
Relax, it’s not difficult at all. Let’s start with the inputs. A balanced connection typically uses XLR connectors, which are relatively large round connectors with three pins male or three holes female in a triangular formation as shown above. This same type of cable used with professional microphones. A balanced connection reduces the risk of induced noise from power cords, radio-frequency interference RFI , and electromagnetic interference EMI.
By the way, if you are going to the expense of a balanced system, make sure it is balanced throughout the amp and not just at the inputs. In a nutshell, here is how a balanced connection works. As I mentioned above, the two signal conductors carry the same signal, but one is out of phase with the other. Any induced noise that is picked up along the cable will be at the same phase in both conductors.
At the amp’s input, a differential amplifier recognizes and rejects any signal that is in phase in both conductors, leaving only the intended audio signal.
